Veterans Third Saturdays at City Park
Every Third Saturday
Every third Saturday, led by Robin Harper, rain or shine, we are at City Park of Reading offering: a smile, blessings, a listening ear, prayers, spiritual cards to mail from the Gideon's, home-made treats from Helen Fisher and Lois Talarigo, and snacks with "encouraging messages" on them. Thanks to Karen Hertzog we now have English/Spanish New Testaments to offer as well!
Cups of Compassion Donations
Sunday, November 12 - Sunday, December 17
Cups of Compassion is a mission to help the homeless and hungry people of Reading. On December 21, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. Cups of Compassion will be held at the 4th & Penn Street Restaurant and they need our help. They are asking for donations of warm, new or gently used coats, hats, scarves, socks, tops, pants and shoes so they can serve a warm meal and distribute the warm clothes. Please bring your items in and put them in the Cups of Compassion box located in the East Narthex between November 12 and December 17, 2017. If you have any questions please contact Barbara Lord.
Cups of Compassion started when attorney Laura E. Cooper looked out her law office window at Fifth and Penn on a cold day in December 2010 and saw a number of homeless and hungry people on the streets of Reading. She told a co-worker she was going to make a crock of soup and pass out warm food the next day. It is seven years later and she is still serving warm food and much more.
Salvation Army Angel Tree
Sunday, November 19 - Sunday, December 3
It is that time of the year when we will be supporting the Salvation Army with an Angel Tree. The Angel Tree will be located in the East Narthex and decorated with 10 Senior Citizen tags and 50 Children's tags. These tags will contain the items each individual really wants/needs for Christmas. Please restrict your spending to $50.00 and under. When you chose your tag(s) please make sure to sign the sheet next to the tree with your name and phone number. All gifts should be put into gift bags only (NO WRAPPED BOXES) with the original tag securely attached and returned to the Angel Tree no later than Sunday December 3, 2017.
If you have any questions please email Cece Wagner or call 610-670-1545 and thank you in advance for making Christmas special to those less fortunate than us.
Thursday, November 23 - Sunday, December 10
The holidays are quickly approaching and it is time to think about Christmas Poinsettias. Please consider ordering your poinsettias from Bausman. Not only will you be decorating the sanctuary on Christmas Eve with your beautiful flowers but the proceeds will go to help update the 3 Sunday School rooms on the second floor.
**Order forms will be available in the sanctuary, the church office, or the order form can be printed here.
All flowers should be taken home after the Christmas Eve service of your choice.
If you have any questions please email Cece Wagner or call 610-670-1545.
Advent Sunday Fellowship
Sunday, December 3
Advent Sunday is coming back to Bausman Church! On Sunday, December 3rd, after worship, from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m., will be a time of food, fun, and fellowship! On this day we will: enjoy a pot-luck meal, decorate the church for Christmas, play Christmas music, and make some Christmas ornaments for the sanctuary tree and home. There will be different ornaments for all ages! We will also make a Christmas candle wreath with devotional readings to be shared at home throughout the season. Look for more information to follow.
If you have any questions please contact Sue Wentzel or Pastor Mark.
Women's Christmas Party

If you need a ride to church just let anyone on the Women's Committee know. We hope to see you there! Please see Sue Wentzel for reservations or call 610-374-5611. Cost is $12.00 per person.
Wreaths Across America
Saturday, December 16
On December 16 we will be going to Arlington Cemetery to place wreaths on the graves sites there. This promises to be a powerful and very moving experience. We also hope to tour the White House! There might be a ticket or two left if you're interested in joining us.

Christmas Pageant - The Not-So-Silent Night
Sunday, December 17
Do not miss The Not-So-Silent Night Christmas Pageant on December 17th at the 10:15 a.m. service. Three young shepherds joyfully shouting God's praises after meeting the baby Jesus soon discover they were "disturbing the peace". Join them for a hilarious trail and a surprise ending. For additional information, please email Laura Waetjen or call 610-743-3460.
The Walk'n Talkers meet every Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. We gather at the
Stone House parking lot, or if inclement weather, at the Ruby Tuesday entrance
of the Berkshire Mall. Spring has arrived, and it is a perfect time to
take some walks in Wyomissing's great outdoors. We will be happy to welcome YOU
to our lively group of "Walk'n Talkers!"
If you have questions
please contact Pat Ori at 610-927-6561.
Walk'n Talkers head West - sort of.
Last year Bausman's Walk'n Talkers started a virtual walking trek across
Pennsylvania. Each member reported the number of miles walked each week and then
they were added together and marked on a map. It didn't take long to
"walk" across Pennsylvania, so the Walk'n Talkers decided to keep
going till they reach the Pacific Ocean. You can follow their journey on the
map on the bulletin board outside of the library, or you can join them on the
last leg of their trip.
Put Some MAGIC in Your Life
We all shop at local grocery stores weekly for our family's food, but did you realize you can also do something very special for Bausman UCC at the same time. By purchasing and using Bausman's MAGIC cards you can support the church's ministry and missions when you shop at either Giant or Weis Supermarkets. The cards are available for purchase every Sunday in the church's East Entrance, from the Counters in the Office following the Service, or from the Secretary in the Church Office during the week. The cards come in values of $25, $50, and $100. Bausman receives 5% of the purchase price for the use in the General Fund. Please see Karen Good, Lori Moser, or Barbara Lord to participate and "put some MAGIC in your life."
Perks for Bausman
If you shop at Redner's Market you can take advantage of their Save-A-Tape [Pump Perks]. Obtain a Redner's Card at their Customer Service and show it to the cashier each time you visit. Save your receipt, marked Save-A-Tape on it, and turn in to Bausman. Save-a-Tape receipts can be turned in to Bausman by dropping them in the Redner's Box at the East Entrance. Bausman will receive 1% of the total value of your purchase for use by our General Fund. Contact Ruth Levan or the Church Secretary, 610-375-9890 if you have questions. Provide "perks" to Bausman's ministries and missions, too.
