The spiritual nurture of our children is a priority in the life of Bausman Memorial Church United Church of Christ. Through education and fellowship our children learn the basics of our Christian faith, the central place of Christ Jesus in that faith, the word of God as revealed in Scripture, and the building of relationships that will nurture their faith for years to come.
Children’s classes are broken down by grade levels:
Ages 3 and 4 - Room 22
Age 5 through 2nd grade - Room 21
3rd through 7th grades - Room 23
We also offer an 8th grade through Adult Sunday School class in Fellowship Hall. The topics cover a wide range of subjects, some contemporary, some spiritual, but all thought provoking.
Our year starts in September with Rally Day and runs until June.
This program of having "Sunday School" during worship was developed to give parents a better opportunity to concentrate on the worship service. After the "Children's Chat" with the pastor early in the Sunday service, children ages 4 through 3rd grade leave the sanctuary with the teacher and meet upstairs in the Sunday School area until the end of the service. Activities include lessons and crafts.
Vacation Bible School
This is a Summer program open to children through 6th grade. It is held for one week during the Summer from Sunday through Thursday. It begins on Sunday following the worship service and continues through the week in the early evening. Each year there are themed materials that allow participants to share Bible stories, sing, play games, have fun, do crafts, and have snacks.
Pastor Mark conducts a Bible Study every Tuesday at 1:00 p.m in the Library. All are welcome.
Evening Bible Studies are coming to Bausman! On the third and fourth Tuesday of every month, at 7 p.m., we will be meeting in the home of different members for Bible Study. On January 23rd and 30th, we will be meeting at Maureen Longenecker's house, 1520 Garfield Ave, Wyomissing. Come and learn more about our faith! If you have any questions contact Pastor Mark at 610-375-9790.
Mentors meet and work with their individual mentee to complete study materials, share faith stories and complete activities in preparation for youth to become members of the church. They also meet with the pastor at designated times during each month as well as independently to complete requirements and develop relationships. The program runs from mid-Fall through Confirmation on Pentecost Sunday (May/June).
