Mark was born in Baltimore, Maryland and spent much his growing up years in Summit, New Jersey. He has a minor in Philosophy and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from West Chester University, and a Master’s degree in Divinity from Lancaster Theological Seminary. He is married to Diane (Trostle) Johnson who is a Special Education Teacher for the Lancaster/Lebanon IU13.
Mark has served several churches in the central Pennsylvania area during his ministry. In his spare time he enjoys golf and camping.
Minister of Music
Sharon joined the staff of Bausman Memorial UCC in September 1986, when she was appointed Minister of Music. She is the Music Department Chair and choral director for the Wyomissing Area School District, where she teaches 6 Choral Ensembles, Advanced Music I and II, Gr. 7 and serves as Director Emeritus for the School Musicals. Mrs. Luyben earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Lebanon Valley College.
She has sung professionally in several regional
choral ensembles, and has traveled with her school ensembles to perform throughout the country and Caribbean. In her spare time, Mrs. Luyben enjoys sports, traveling with her family, and spending time at the Delaware beaches. Mrs. Luyben lives with her husband, Bill, and their three children in Wyomissing.
John retired in 2012 and returned to Bausman to sing in the choir. At the end of 2013 he was asked to assist John Nickey with the system transition to Church Windows which was completed and fully functional by the end of 2014. He has spent almost 40 years working at the corporate and plant levels in various staff and supervisory roles as a management accountant and is excited to share his talents and serve in the treasurer’s role of managing the church’s finances.
John also serves on two other non-profit 501c3 boards performing a similar function.
When he is not busy extending his professional career, he enjoys playing tennis and chess, reading and traveling.
John and his wife, Linda, have been members of Bausman since the late 70’s. They have 3 grown children- Chris, married with 2 girls, Alissa, married with 3 girls, and Sarah, single – all live in Wyomissing. John is retired, but was certified in Secondary Mathematics, and now works part-time substituting in the JR/Sr. High at Wyomissing. He has served on Consistory in the past and this will be his 3rd term as Church Treasurer.
John also serves on SOAR committee with Linda, and has taught both Jr. and Sr. High Sunday School over the past 20 years. He enjoy sports, especially football and baseball, reading, computers, and music of all kinds.
Bausman Memorial UCC is pleased to announce our new Parish Secretary Nancy Jeffery! We are very thankful to God that she is with us at this time of change and transition for Bausman Church. Listen for her pleasant voice when you call. Nancy emigrated from the Caribbean island of Grenada to Brooklyn, NY at the age of 20. She and her son, Jason, moved to Blandon, PA in August 2016. Nancy was an Executive Administrative Assistant on Wall Street for 15 years. More recently, she worked for 2 churches in New York as the Parish Administrative Assistant. Nancy enjoys reading, traveling, watching football, and is an avid Scrabble player.
